Our Commitment to Safeguarding

Safeguarding

The actions we take as professionals and as a society, to promote the welfare of children and protect them from harm, are referred to as 'safeguarding'.

Safeguarding can be defined as;

  • Protecting children from maltreatment.
  • Preventing impairment of children's health or development.
  • Ensuring that children are growing up in circumstances consistent with the provision of safe and effective care.
  • Taking action to enable all children to have the best outcomes.

Safeguarding children is everyone's responsibility. At Pinvin all staff are trained in safeguarding matters and we have dedicated leads in safeguarding to ensure there is always someone on site to support children and families with any safeguarding matters.

Child Protection

Child Protection is part of safeguarding and promoting welfare. It refers to activity that is undertaken to protect specific children who are suffering, or are likely to suffer, significant harm.

If you suspect a child is at risk of harm you must act.

If a child is in immediate danger, call the police on 999 straight away.

Please find buttons below for information on Safeguarding and Child Protection.

Here to help

Raising a family can be challenging and we are committed to support not only the children in our care, but the whole family, irrelevant of age. Safeguarding is about identifying an issue(s) and putting support in place to help families get back on track.

We believe providing the right help at the earliest opportunity can help to solve problems before they become more pressing and complex. We therefore recommend you talk to us so we are able to support directly or signpost you to help and support.

Our local offer provides an array of information covering all aspects of family life from money worries, housing, mental health, healthy lifestyles, relationships, and much more. Please take a look, but more importantly come and talk to us.

If you have a specific issue that may need a more focused approach we can complete an Early Help Assessment with you. This document helps you to identify the challenges, and put a framework in place to help and support with this.
